The PAE Office held an important working session this morning with key stakeholders involved in the development of Measure 10, which focuses on the integration of biofuels into Mozambique’s energy landscape.
The main objective of the session was to present the findings of a comprehensive study that analyzed potential products, areas of impact, and an economic feasibility study. The study, funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and conducted by the consulting firm LBC, involved extensive consultations with all actors in the biofuel value chain—from production, transformation, and distribution to sales. The work was positively received by the participants, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and commitment to adopting cleaner energy solutions.
The discussions highlighted the potential of biofuels not only to reduce carbon emissions but also to stimulate local agriculture and create new economic opportunities. The collaborative approach adopted in this session underscores Mozambique’s dedication to sustainable development and its strategic vision of positioning itself as a leader in renewable energy in the region.
The feedback from participants will be instrumental in refining the biofuel policy, ensuring it is economically viable and beneficial for all stakeholders involved. This session marks a significant step forward in the country’s journey toward energy diversification and a greener future.
