As part of the implementation of measures 15 and 18, the PAE team met on October 23rd with representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MICULTUR-DINATUR) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (Ebau IP).
This meeting’s agenda was to harmonize the regulation of Travel and Tourism Agencies and Tourist Information Professionals. MICULTUR informed that the proposed regulation under discussion fits the PAE in its pillar of improving the business environment as the sector brings some relaxation in the requirements for licensing the activities of travel agencies with regard to the withdrawal of the deposit that was previously a constraint on the requirement for the provision of travel and tourism agency services.
It is now proposed that the requirement for professional liability insurance be maintained. There are other requirements that make the regulation flexible, such as the number of workers and types of travel agencies in sales and organizers
