The PAE team works on the regulation of the new Labor Law with the legal department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MITESS) and the PAE’s legal advisor, Fernanda Lopes.
MITESS reported that regulatory proposals on matters of rural work, hiring foreign labor and private employment agencies are at an advanced stage for subsequent submission to the Council of Ministers. At the moment, consultations with other sectors and social partners are being finalized with a view to harmonizing the proposal and having a consensual document between the parties.
As challenges to seek subsidies in the drafting of regulations for new matters such as domestic work, oil work and new types of work (seasonal, teleworking among others), MITESS will work with the Legal Advisor. Thus, both parties agreed to create a schedule of activities.
MITESS also reported that it has a calendar where it already has a consultation plan with other sectors about the new regulations. And he said that by May 1, 2024, the regulations on domestic work must be ready.
