The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Excellency the President of the Republic, who highlighted that the entry into operation of the Laboratory reinforces measure 6 of the 20 measures of the Economic Acceleration Package that advocates greater supervision of mining exploration, with the aim to increase State revenues and improve the living conditions of communities.
The increase in State revenues will be reflected in strict supervision in the fight against illegal mining, ensuring that the State receives the revenue due for extracted resources and through supervision there is a guarantee that mining companies comply with safety and environmental standards, protecting communities and the environment, towards sustainable development.
Likewise, the President congratulated INAMI on having a fully equipped laboratory that, in light of the ISO 17025 standard, this at an international level fits into the place of quality laboratories, with uniform and reliable international criteria for evaluating the quality of test and calibration results and is a reference in Southern Africa. This laboratory will support the regulation of mining geological activity, development of geological, seismic and magnetic analyses. In a way, the country will reduce the costs of observing and analyzing samples of mineral resources. It is a means that will create investment attractiveness for the mining sector. And he called for the need to create value-added benefits for young graduates to intern at the Laboratory.
