PAE representatives met today with the CTA to discuss the progress of some measures in the reform package, with emphasis on measures 7 and 9.
With regard to Measure 7, which aims to promote housing and boost the national construction materials industry, the PAE leadership will collaborate with the CTA to advance the viability of affordable housing. A pilot project is scheduled to begin in the Katembe region, in partnership with the Housing Development Fund and the municipal administration. The CTA also presented alternative financing proposals for the development of the project, including the participation of private venture capital funds.
The status of implementation of Measure 9, which establishes the Mutual Guarantee Fund, was also discussed. It was reported that, at the moment, the creation of the fund’s operations policy is underway, at the same time that work is being done with the Bank of Mozambique to license the fund’s management company.
